Halifax Pride’s QUEER ACTS Theatre Festival is pleased to announce its call for submissions for the festival’s 2014 edition. Interested individuals and groups are encouraged to submit a proposal including the following details:
• A short summary of the project and its relevance to the queer community
• Excerpts or a completed script
• A bio of the company and/or confirmed artists, including their function with the project
• A list of the artists required to be in Halifax during the project’s run
• General technical requirements
• Anticipated run time
• Any support material you wish to provide
The QUEER ACTS Festival Director will assess proposals. Remuneration will be decided upon with the selected participants, all of whom will be asked to provide the festival with a complete production as described. Along with a performance space and marketing for all the productions, QUEER ACTS will provide some staff including a technical director and front of house support.
Proposals must be sent via email on or before October 10, 2013 toqueeracts@gmail.com. Artists invited to participate in the festival will be contacted by November 15, 2013.
