ARCPEI HOSTING 15th ANNUAL PRIDE WEEK FROM JULY 7th - 13, 2013
The Ageweit Rainbow Collective of PEI (ARCPEI) is gearing up for a week full of spirit and color as Prince Edward Island hosts its 15th annual Pride Week from July 7th- 13th, 2013! Events are planned throughout the week to showcase individuality, togetherness, equality, and of course pride.
The Schedule for the week is currently as follows:
Sunday, July 7: Church service to be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church - With regularly scheduled morning service
Monday, July 8, 12 Noon: Flag Raising Ceremonies occurring at Charlottetown City Hall, UPEI, Stratford Town Hall, Cornwall Town Hall, and Summerside City Hall.
Tuesday, July 9: Outdoor events (TBA - weather permitting).
Wednesday, July 10, 7 PM: Coffee House at Beanz Espresso Bar (38 University Avenue, Charlottetown). Enjoy music, spoken word, and other local entertainment.
Thursday, July 11: Outdoor events (TBA - weather permitting).
Friday, July 12, 10 PM: Pride Masquerade Gala, Confederation Centre of the Arts. Guest DJ Jules Bangsworth (from Halifax’s 25th anniversary Pride) will be spinning to keep you moving all night long!
Saturday, July 13: 2/3 PM: 2013 Pride Parade and BBQ Social and Variety Show. Parade will marshal at 2 PM. with a 3 PM official start time. You can see route can be found on the Pride PEI website. Immediately following the parade will be a BBQ Social and Variety Show in the Confederation Landing (on the Charlottetown Waterfront) with food, activities, entertainment, political guest speakers, and giveaways!
