INTERIOR. LEATHER BAR. 9:00PM
Honest to Goddess, could James Franco (Milk, Howl) get any gayer? Who cares, as long as this straight-identified actor/director keeps bringing his formidable intelligence, talent, and vey queer heart to projects like this. INTERIOR. LEATHER BAR tackles William Friedkin's enormously controversial 1980 film, Cruising.
In order to avoid an X rating for Cruising, Friedkin cut 40 minutes of footage that has never been screened publicly. Through an innovative documentary hybrid style, Franco and queer screenwriter Travis Mathews re-imagine what may have happened in those lost scenes and inspire the actors on set, and the audience, to take a deeper look at sexual and creative freedom.
