From Angels and Heroes
Halifax bsed theatre company Angels and Heroes presents the Atlantic Canadian premiere of Florence Gibson Macdonald’s multi-nominated How Do I Love thee? for a limited engagement this October at The Bus Stop Theatre.
In How Do I Love Thee?, Florence Gibson Macdonald has created a rich and passionate love story that arcs the role that addiction plays in artistic expression and inspiration. Focusing on a fictionalized retelling of the whirlwind romance between poets Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barratt-Browning, Gibson folds humour, hope, and passion into this love story about two driven artists. At its core, it is a play about love in all of its forms.
Merritt Award winner (Girls!Girls!Girls! ), Angels and Heroes' director, Richie Wilcox, has assembled a first-rate cast for this smart and lyrical play. Sarah English stars in the role of Elizabeth Barrett-Browning, alongside Patrick Daniel Gervais as Robert Browning. The cast is rounded out by much-loved actors Mauralea Austin, as Wilson, and Garry Williams as John Kenyon.
Original music, sound and set design will be provided by long-time Angels and Heroes collaborator, Aaron Collier (Merritt Award winner, (Domestic Train-Wreck). Following their smash hit with The Princess Show at the Atlantic Fringe Festival, Wilcox and Collier are suppotred with Stage Management by Heather Lewis, and Costume Desiger Emlyn Murray, A&H brings together a luminary team of artists to the stage for this empassioned story of love and poetry.
In addition, Angels and Heroes is delighted to announce that they will be partnering with The Marguerite Centre for this upcoming production. The Marguerite Centre is a residential holistic program for women recovering from addictions and abuse in the Halifax Regional Municipality. It is the only residence of its kind in Nova Scotia, and Angels and Heroes is excited to work with them to raise awareness for this incredible program.
