Jan 25: NSRAP Calls On Trans* Community For Consult on Surgeries & Health Care

On January 25th, NSRAP and its community partners PrideHealth and South House will host a Community Consultation on Gender Confirming Surgeries and Trans* Health Care. Despite June 2013 announcement of funding for gender confirming surgeries, policies and processes are not yet in place to allow these surgeries to happen.

Gottingen Street for Scott Jones

More than $80,000 has been raised so far to assist Scott Jones in his recovery. Now, members of the Halifax music scene have organised a mammoth fundraiser involving more than 30 top flight artists, all performing at half a dozen venues on Gottingen on November 28. "To have these performers and businesses come together in my name is overwhelming,” said Scott Jones. “This is going to be an amazing night and I am so thankful for their support and love!"

Why NSRAP Matters

"... the resolve of NSRAP is made stronger than ever to bring an end to homophobic and transphobic violence and hate, once and for all." These are brave words, I believe they are meant, and that in the weeks and months ahead,  our communities will see them translated into action. There is so much that still needs to be done. It is true that we have come a long way, but we’re not there yet! We have changed the world! We can change it again!
